Enjoy the history of prohibition and its roots, starting almost a hundred years before The Volstead Act and taking you through the roaring 20’s and 30’s, until ultimately the law was repealed from the United States Constitution. Your guide will discuss the key players; whether they were enacting the law, enforcing the law, or breaking the law. As we stop at some of Chicago’s most iconic speakeasies, feel free to enjoy signature drinks from an era long past, but not forgotten. Must bring valid i.d to participate. Food and soft drinks included, cocktails available for purchase.

Transportation is provided via mini bus.

Trip Policies & Cancellations

Suggested Ages for Trips
Adult/Active trips are appropriate for anyone ages 18 and over.
Mature Adult trips are most appropriate for ages 55 and up,but all adults are welcome.

Pick-up/Drop-off Times
Pick-up/drop-off location is at the Park District Fitness and Recreation Center - lobby unless otherwise noted. Departure times are set and abided by. If changes occur, participants will be notified by phone. Return times may vary depending on traffic or weather conditions; we make every attempt to return by the designated time.

Refunds are only given under the following conditions:
1: The trip is cancelled by the Barrington Park District.
2: The person asking for a refund finds a replacement for the trip.
3: The Park District has a waiting list and is able to sell your ticket.
If we have not met our registration minimum by the deadline date (if one is listed), then the trip will be cancelled and a full refund will be issued. All payments are required in full at time of registration. Please notify the Park District in advance if any special ADA or dietary accommodations are needed for the trip.
