The Newsroom is a FREE and convenient communication tool from the Barrington Park District that allows YOU to receive timely information from our website and also on YOUR desktop.

To use The Newsroom on our website simply click "Latest Posts" above or click any channel to the left that interests you. Then click the title or 'Read more >>' link of any post to access more detailed information.

For a more personal experience you can download The Newsroom desktop widget to your computer (click here to download The Newsroom desktop widget now) and choose the channels you would like to receive. The Newsroom automatically checks for updated Park District information to keep you up to date! The Newsroom desktop widget includes several components:

Marquee
Features breaking news and important alerts. Place your mouse in the center of the Marquee to pause it. Place your mouse over the left or right side of the Marquee to change the direction and speed of the scroller. Click an item in the Marquee to link directly to the District's website for more detailed information.

Main Content Area
Highlights the most up-to-date Park District information, alerts, important dates, special event notices and program reminders. The first tab - Latest Posts - shows posts from the channels you have chosen and organizes them by the most recent post first. Click the title or 'Read more >>' link of any post to access more detailed information. You may also click on the facility to link to the related page on the District's website.

The My Channels tab displays a listing of all of the channels you have chosen and indicates how many active posts are available in each channel. Click the channel name to see a listing of active posts.

The My Account tab allows you to update your account, manage your channels, login/logout and retrieve your username and password.

Brochure Window
Displays a picture of the current brochure cover. If there is more than one active brochure, the covers will rotate. Click the brochure cover to view a complete PDF version.

Photo Gallery
Consists of a selection of photos that feature unique facilities, upcoming events, park users and more. Sometimes photos will link directly to the District's website for more detailed information.

Leisure Link Icon
Links directly to the District's Leisure Link Online Registration system for easy access for people of all ages to register for programs and activities.

Banner
Highlights seasonal facilities or park amenities. Sometimes banners will link directly to the District's website for more detailed information.
