July 21, 2022 @ 8:45 am - 4:30 pm

Day Date Time Fee
Thur. 7/21 8:45am – 4:30pm $66/$71 (1 day)

This tasty tour is fun for anyone who loves chocolate! Start getting your taste buds ready for this delicious itinerary that includes lunch, chocolate butter cookies, chocolate toffee making, wine tasting and shopping!

First, we will shop at the amazing outlet store at Long Grove Confectionery Co. Just one bite proves why they are an Illinois Made award winner!

Next we will visit Lambs Farm. For over 50 years, Lambs Farm has serviced the developmentally disabled by empowering them to be the most they can be. We will start at the Visitor Center, meet one of the amazing residents, take some time to shop at the pet store, thrift shop and bakery before receiving a bag of their famous butter cookies, in chocolate of course!

Escape from the ordinary and experience the extraordinary on our next stop at The Chocolate Sanctuary. The menu celebrates the cocoa bean in its many forms; we will enjoy a three-course lunch featuring your choice of soup or salad, a beautifully plated main course and a dessert that incorporates the restaurant’s namesake ingredient.

Lastly, we will have an experience in sweet science at Uniquely Sweet making our own clusters of toffee. While your chocolate masterpiece is hardening, we will enjoy a wine tasting next door at Glunz Family Cellars – Lake County’s first winery where you will get 10% off your purchase!

Registration deadline: July 14 (space permitting). Transportation provided via Park District van.
