DESCRIPTION:Sec.#\nDay\nDate\nTime\nFee\n\n\n01\nWed.\n3/6\n10:00am – 5:30pm\n$55/$60 (1 day)\n\n\n\nEnjoy a little slice of “Broadway” right in our own backyard. We will be traveling to Paramount Theater in Aurora\, IL to see Billy Elliot\, an inspiring coming of age story brought to life by the music of Elton John. Watch this 11-year-old English boy stumble upon a ballet class during his weekly boxing lesson. His surprising love for dance must be hidden at all costs\, especially from his coal miner father. With the help from his sharp-tongued teacher\, Mrs. Wilkinson\, Billy gets the chance to attend a prestigious ballet school and must decide what is most important: doing what he loves or doing what other people want. Lunch will be on your own and self-pay at a local restaurant. Minimal walking involved with this trip. Registration deadline: February 21 (spaces permitting). We will take a motor coach bus into the city where we will meet our tour guide (Gilbert) for our tasty tour. We will visit Chinatown\, a rich and vibrant neighborhood steeped in tradition. While here\, you will enjoy your favorite appetizer. Time permitting\, you may stroll along the main street to take in the sights and sounds of Chinatown. Next is a stop in the quaint neighborhood of Little Italy. Immerse yourself in the exquisite aromas and multi-layered flavors of Italy as you enjoy a savory sampling of traditional favorites! Our day concludes in Greektown\, one of Chicago ‘s most recognized neighborhoods. Fanciful dessert and authentic flaming Cheese (Saganaki) await as you are transported to the Mediterranean. Opa!
