DESCRIPTION:THURSDAY\, OCTOBER 17\n6:00am – 6:00pm\nFee: $99/$109\nLocation: Depart F&RC – Lobby for Shipshewana \nWe will head over to Shipshewana for a memorable experience visiting the heart of Amish Country. Our escorted tour offers personal details of growing up in such a unique area. The tour begins with 15-minute Amish Buggy ride in downtown Shipshewana. Following the ride\, we will visit a buggy shop where we will learn how they make the buggies and the differences between them. We will then stop at a popcorn farm/stand to learn about the farm and get a taste of their very own popcorn. We will also visit the Amish Bakery for shopping\nand free samples of their famous donuts. If time allows\, we will stop at an authentic Amish furniture store. Our final stop will be at an Amish home where they will prepare a traditional thresher meal for us. None of us will leave hungry! Don’t miss out on this memorable experience! \nRegistration deadline: September 26.\nPlease call the Park District (847) 381-0687\, to confirm availability. \nTrip Policies & Cancellations \nSuggested Ages for Trips\nAdult/Active trips are appropriate for anyone ages 18 and over.\nMature Adult trips are most appropriate for ages 55 and up\, but all adults are welcome. \nPick-up/Drop-off Times\nPick-up/drop-off location is at the Park District Fitness and Recreation Center – lobby unless otherwise noted. Departure times are set and abided by. If changes occur\, participants will be notified by phone. Return times may vary depending on traffic or weather conditions; we make every attempt to return by the designated time. \nRefunds\nRefunds are only given under the following conditions:\n1: The trip is cancelled by the Barrington Park District.\n2: The person asking for a refund finds a replacement for the trip.\n3: The Park District has a waiting list and is able to sell your ticket.\nIf we have not met our registration minimum by the deadline date (if one is listed)\, then the trip will be cancelled and a full refund will be issued. During the World’s Fair\, Holmes operated the infamous “Murder Castle” and this was the first tour to take you on a journey back in time to not only the places where Holmes sought out and dispatched his victims\, but also to take a look at the remnants of the World’s Columbian Exposition and to get an inside look at Chicago in 1893 and what the world saw when it came to the Windy City! After the tour\, we will enjoy lunch at Fado Irish Pub. \nRegistration deadline: October 15.\nPlease call the Park District (847) 381-0687\, to confirm availability. \nTrip Policies & Cancellations \nSuggested Ages for Trips\nAdult/Active trips are appropriate for anyone ages 18 and over.\nMature Adult trips are most appropriate for ages 55 and up\, but all adults are welcome. \nPick-up/Drop-off Times\nPick-up/drop-off location is at the Park District Fitness and Recreation Center – lobby unless otherwise noted. Departure times are set and abided by. If changes occur\, participants will be notified by phone. Return times may vary depending on traffic or weather conditions; we make every attempt to return by the designated time. \nRefunds\nRefunds are only given under the following conditions:\n1: The trip is cancelled by the Barrington Park District.\n2: The person asking for a refund finds a replacement for the trip.\n3: The Park District has a waiting list and is able to sell your ticket.\nIf we have not met our registration minimum by the deadline date (if one is listed)\, then the trip will be cancelled and a full refund will be issued. All payments are required in full at time of registration. Please notify the Park District in advance if any special ADA or dietary accommodations are needed for the trip.
