Youth/Teens: S.T.E.M.: Learn to Code (Winter/Spring)

8 - 16 years

Sec.# 01
Monday’s (6 wks)
4/11 – 5/16
6:15 – 7:15pm

In this exciting class, children learn programming essentials using MIT’s Scratch programming language. Chasewood’s multilevel curriculum starts with children learning the basics of programming. Students can program interactive media projects, such as stories, games and animations. The activities encourage exploration of key computational thinking concepts (sequence, loops, parallelism, events, conditionals, operators, data) and key computational thinking practices (experimenting and iterating, testing and debugging, reusing and remixing, abstracting and modularizing). Since this class is a multi-level program where children are placed based on skill and experience, students can repeat this class as they start where they left off from the last class.

Using a creative educational approach that supports Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (S.T.E.M.), these programs are presented by Chasewood Learning’s teacher-led instruction followed by fun, engaging and dynamic activities.

Registrations for this program/event begins December 2 at 9:00am for residents and December 9 at 9:00am for non-residents.
