Day Trip: Wagon Through the Woods – Exploring Sternes Woods & Wingate Prairie (Fall)

Climb aboard for a fun and breezy wagon ride through the scenic beauty of Sternes Woods & Fen and Wingate Prairie! This guided adventure rolls through shaded woodlands, sunny tallgrass prairies and rare wetland habitats, all bursting with birdsong, wildflowers and maybe even a frog or two. Along the way, our naturalist will share fun facts, curious critter stories and little-known secrets about the local landscape. Perfect for nature lovers of all ages, this ride is a relaxed way to explore the wild side of Crystal Lake – no hiking boots required! Minimal walking is involved wit this trip. Registration/cancellation deadline: October 1 (spaces permitting). Transportation provided via Park District van.

Registration for this program/event begins at 9:00am on 8/19 for residents and 8/22 for non-residents.

Trip Policies & Cancellations, Pick-up/Drop-off Locations and Times

Pick-up/drop-off location is at the Park District Fitness and Recreation Center lobby unless otherwise noted. We depart promptly at the times listed. If changes occur, participants will be notified by phone or e-mail. Return times may vary depending on traffic and/or weather conditions; we make every attempt to return by the designated time.

Refunds

Refunds are only given under the following conditions:

1: The trip is canceled by the Barrington Park District.

2: The person asking for a refund finds a replacement for the trip.

3: The Park District has a waiting list and is able to sell your ticket.

4: If we have not met our registration minimum by the deadline date.

NO CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE REGISTRATION/CANCELLATION DEADLINE FOR EACH TRIP.

All payments are required in full at time of registration. Please notify the Park District in advance if any special ADA or dietary accommodations are needed for the trip.
