POSITION SUMMARY:
- The assistant site supervisor is a part time seasonal position. The responsibilities of the Assistant Site Supervisor are listed below. At any point when the Site Supervisor is unavailable the Assistant must be prepared to fulfill the responsibilities of the Site Supervisor.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

- Must possess current First Aid, CPR and AED Certification
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise participants while protecting their physical, psychological and emotional health.
- Learn all participant’s names through getting to know you games and interaction with all participants.
- Acts as a positive role model while teaching and encouraging healthy leisure lifestyle. A positive role model demonstrates this through: appropriate subject matter, tone of voice, and language.
- Becomes knowledgeable of all material in staff manual.
- Maintains and implements safety standards and procedures at all times to ensure a well-rounded program in a safe, positive environment.
- Contributes ideas and suggestions for staff meetings.
- Is aware of each days planned activities.
- Learn the routine quickly and take initiative to ensure the schedule runs smoothly.
- Take initiative to make sure or assist in the set-up of day’s activities.
- Is actively involved in all aspects of the camper’s day.
- Maintains order while Site supervisor or fellow counselor are explaining or talking with the group.
- Begins activities after afternoon snack time, before the end of the day.
- Will enforce all K.E.E.P. policies and procedures.
- Will not voice difference of opinion with other staff in front of the children or their parents.
- Assures that children are never to be allowed to roam at will at the camp site or on field trips.
- Will arrive at scheduled start time.
- Observes all regulations, which pertain to you as a staff member.
- Follows and initiates correct procedures during emergency situations (disaster, medical, etc.)
- Shall treat each child with dignity and respect.
- Shall follow procedures for accident and incidents. (see procedure manual.)
- Will establish and maintain a positive liaison with parents, park staff and the community.
- Will promote the program and the park district in a positive manner.
- Understands that attendance on a 5-day basis is required. Four day workweeks are not conducive to the program or the welfare the children.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The position of Early Childhood Program Instructor is a part-time position. The Early Childhood Program Instructor is under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor and provides instruction in Early Childhood programming.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Early Childhood or related fields preferred
- College courses in Early Childhood, Education, Athletics, Recreation, etc. preferred
- Thorough knowledge of Early Childhood Education
- Ability to teach in any given class situation
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Shall ensure program activities are conducted safely and conducted according to all safety guidelines.
- Organize class and ensure that the program is of high quality, efficiency, and safety to all times.

- Shall submit a program organization schedule one week prior to the start of the session.

Fitness Center
POSITION SUMMARY: The Barrington Park District is looking for world-class yoga instructors to help continue to build and enhance our fitness team. The Yoga Instructor delivers an empowering, motivational, engaging, educational, and professional yoga experience to ensure a successful yoga practice for patrons that keeps them motivated and inspired.
The Yoga Instructor is responsible for teaching a balanced yoga class for participants of all fitness levels and abilities, cueing progressions and regressions, and educating patrons on appropriate breathing principles and safe transitioning techniques.
The position of Yoga Instructor is a part-time position and under the direct supervision of the Health & Fitness Manager. The Yoga Instructor is responsible for creating, implementing the proper format, demonstrating and reinforcing proper form or fitness classes using energetic, positive, motivating techniques.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma required
- 200 RYT or equivalent
- Must have and maintain current certification in Red Cross CPR, AED, and First Aid within 3 months of hire
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Yoga Instructor
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and implement the proper class plan for the type of yoga being taught; for example, Gentle Yoga, Yoga 2, Yoga Challenge, Restorative Yoga
- Assist with development of marketing strategies, promotional materials, prepare and review brochure copy for fitness programs, and promote class on personal social media and/or word of mouth
- Provide leadership and guidance to participants regarding proper form and skill
- Arrive for class 15 minutes early to prepare/review rosters, set up and/or music, answer participant questions and learn about limitations, develop rapport and relationships with participants
- Stay 15 minutes after class to clean up, answer participant questions and motivate participants to return
- Teach all classes to the ability level of the participants
- Maintain a professional manner through proper attire, attitude and aptitude
- Communicate with the participants, fitness desk and manager regarding any changes for the class
- Instructors are required to locate and maintain a sub approved by the manager
- Immediately report any problems or repairs of equipment to the Fitness Manager
- Request supplies as needed for class with adequate allowance for timely delivery
- Accurately track attendance of all participants
- Maintain a working knowledge of all general and department safety rules
- Enforce safety rules and improve public and employee knowledge by preventing, confronting and correcting unsafe behavior
- Be prepared to perform CPR or First Aid if required
- Follow all procedures and guidelines as presented in the policy manual
- Attend staff training and risk management sessions
- Maintain current certifications through continuing education

POSITION SUMMARY: Looking for an energetic, motivated individual(s) to be a part of our constantly growing fitness team. Work with a friendly and active staff including group exercise instructors, trainers and other fitness attendants. Applicant must be available for early morning plus a rotating weekend shift. Experience in the fitness field is a plus. This is a year-round, part-time position.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma required
- Basic computer skills including comfortable working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and Google applications
- Ability to work independently when manager is not present
- Organizational skills and the ability to shift tasks responding to multiple requests

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Welcome members as they enter the fitness center, check them in for classes
- Provide membership information for new patrons and complete the registration process
- Answer the phone and respond to caller’s questions. Direct calls to other departments when appropriate.
- Conduct equipment orientation for new participants
- Complete the assigned equipment checks and cleaning procedures and schedule daily
- Maintain a neat and orderly facility with a continuous focus on safety
- Maintain the necessary forms and manuals, including training schedules, updating participant rosters and entering daily class counts
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Health & Fitness Manager
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent standing, squatting, bending, sitting, walking, reaching and kneeling
- Requires occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
HOURS:

POSITION SUMMARY: The position of the Assistant Pool Manager is a seasonal position (May through Labor Day). Under the direct supervision of the Aquatic Recreation Manager, the Assistant Pool Manager is responsible for the daily operations of Aqualusion Waterpark. The individual hired in this position is hired on the demonstration of responsibility and maturity.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must have a High School Diploma
- Must have three seasons of experience as a lifeguard
- Must possess a current certificate in Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certificition
- Water Safety Instructor a plus
- Must be able to supervise the lifeguard staff
- Must have knowledge of pool chemicals and maintenance
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Shall supervise the lifeguard staff
- Shall supervise pool operations and maintenance
- Shall supervise the sanitation and cleanliness of all pool areas and record chlorine, PH, and water inlet amounts twice daily, in accordance with State Health regulations
- Shall supervise all lifeguards on duty to maintain maximum safety for patrons and pool equipment
- Shall conduct trainings for lifeguards and aquatic staff
- Shall immediately report any needed repairs to the Park District Director
- Shall supervise the discipline of pool patrons to make sure that order is maintained
- In case of emergency or accident, shall supervise and coordinate any rescue operations; the notification of the proper authorities including the Park District Director; and shall complete any necessary paperwork
- Shall report any conditions to the Director which might deem pool closing necessary
- Must have thorough knowledge of emergency and auxiliary services available in the community when needed in emergency situations
- Must have thorough knowledge of pertinent safety precautions
- Shall perform other duties as assigned
HOURS:
- Open Memorial Day to Labor Day with the exception that D220 is in session. The pool will then be open on weekends. Shifts will vary between the hours of 6:00am – 9:30pm, Monday – Sunday.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Teen Breakout Camp Counselor position is a part time seasonal position. Camp Counselor should display a desire to work with children through positive interaction and role modeling.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma is preferred
- 18 years of age or older
- Minimum 1 year experience working/coaching children and/or teens depending on camp
- Ability to teach in any given camp situation
- Must possess current First Aid, CPR and AED Certification
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Acts as a positive role model while teaching and encouraging healthy leisure lifestyle.
- Be a positive role model. Inappropriate language, conversation and mature theme discussions should not take place at camp.
- Becomes knowledgeable of all material in staff manual.
- Maintains and implements safety standards and procedures at all times to ensure a well-rounded program in a safe, positive environment.
- Will attend all scheduled trainings and meetings as deemed necessary by the Recreation Supervisors. (Failure to attend meetings could result in loss of position.)
- Is aware of each days planned activities.
- Will enforce all Summer Camp policies and procedures.
HOURS:
- Monday-Friday, June 12th -August 4th
- Shifts will vary between 9:00am-4:00pm

- If you don’t have lifeguard training we will train you.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintaining safety of all patrons by enforcing pool rules.
- Communication among staff and supervisors.
- Work well with a team of people.
- Opening/closing duties.
- Proper handling of equipment.
- Attend in-service trainings.
- Maintaining proper certifications.
HOURS: Open Memorial Day to Labor Day with the exception that D220 is in session. The pool will then be open on weekends. Shifts will vary between the hours of 6:00am – 9:30pm, Monday – Sunday.

HOURS: Sessions begin June 10th and run through August 3rd. Lessons run Monday – Thursday and Friday being the make-up day for weekday lessons. We also hold lessons on Saturday mornings.

- Shall be on time for work as scheduled or will arrange for a Park District slide attendant substitute when unable to work.
- Must have thorough knowledge of pertinent safety precautions.
- Attend in-service trainings.
- Be available to work night, weekends and day shifts.
- Be comfortable in and around water.

- Is actively involved in all aspects of the camper’s day.
- Will enforce all K.E.E.P. policies and procedures.
- Observes all camp regulations, which pertain to you as a staff member.
- Follows and initiates correct procedures during emergency situations (disaster, medical, etc.)
- Shall treat each child with dignity and respect.
- Will establish and maintain a positive liaison with parents, park staff and the community.
- Will promote the program and the park district in a positive manner.
- Shall be flexible and resourceful to the program.Understands that attendance on a 5-day basis is required. Four day workweeks are not conducive to the program or the welfare the children.
- Shall assure that the rooms are clean and all supplies and equipment are properly stored before leaving the facility.
- Other duties as assigned.
