Day Trip: Farm to Table to Deitricks’ Alpaca Ranch

This trip is a great way to slow down and enjoy the open spaces. We begin with a country-style breakfast at The Machine Shed. Enjoy cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and hash brown casserole. Then we journey on to Deitricks’ Alpaca Ranch. Come and enjoy the “alpaca lifestyle” on a 50-acre farm in scenic Prophetstown, Illinois. These 72 gentle and curious alpacas will delight and charm as you feed, learn, and play. You can also peruse the ranch store for yarn, hats, scarves, and other fun items. Registration deadline: May 14 (spaces permitting). Transportation provided via Park District van.
Registration for this program/event begins at 9:00am on 12/7 for residents and 12/14 for non-residents.
Trip Policies & Cancellations
Suggested Ages for Trips
Adult/Active trips are appropriate for anyone ages 18 and over.
Mature Adult trips are most appropriate for ages 55 and up, but all adults are welcome.
Pick-up/Drop-off Times
Pick-up/drop-off location is at the Park District Fitness and Recreation Center – lobby unless otherwise noted. Departure times are set and abided by. If changes occur, participants will be notified by phone. Return times may vary depending on traffic or weather conditions; we make every attempt to return by the designated time.
Refunds
Refunds are only given under the following conditions:
1: The trip is cancelled by the Barrington Park District.
2: The person asking for a refund finds a replacement for the trip.
3: The Park District has a waiting list and is able to sell your ticket.
If we have not met our registration minimum by the deadline date (if one is listed), then the trip will be cancelled and a full refund will be issued. All payments are required in full at time of registration. Please notify the Park District in advance if any special ADA or dietary accommodations are needed for the trip.
