Frank Lloyd Wright used his first home in Oak Park, IL to experiment with design concepts that contain the seeds of his architectural philosophy. In his adjacent studio, Wright and his associates developed a new American Architecture – the Prairie Style. A guided tour of the inside of his home and studio as well as the Unity Temple give us a look into the beginning of his career. Lunch will be at Lou Malnati’s for thin crust pizza, Malnati’s salad, soda and a cookie. Next we will visit Hemmingway’s birthplace museum to explore the roots of the author’s life and work. Extensive walking is involved with this trip. Registration/cancellation deadline: April 29 (spaces permitting). Transportation provided via Park District van.
Registration for this program/event begins at 9:00am on 12/5 for residents and 12/12 for non-residents.
Our trips are perfect for those 21 years and older to get out and explore!
