Day Trip: House on The Rock (Winter/Spring)

You will want to see this spectacular attraction with building after building filled with some of the world’s most unique collections. You will experience the exotic, the unusual and the unexpected! At the House on the Rock, you will take a self-guided tour through indoor and outdoor exhibits. Please dress for the weather. Alex Jordan’s awesome retreat built atop a chimney of rock opened to the public in 1960. Some highlights include: the world’s largest carousel, a 200′ sea creature, automated music machines and much more. Food is available as self-pay at their concession stand serving pizza, sandwiches and snacks. This site has rough terrains, stairs and various areas inaccessible by scooter and walker. Extensive walking is involved is involved with this trip. Registration/cancellation deadline: March 12 (spaces permitting). Transportation provided via Park District van to Crystal Lake and then motorcoach to Spring Green.
Registration for this program/event begins at 9:00am on12/4 for residents and 12/11 for non-residents.

Trip Policies & Cancellations, Pick-up/Drop-off Locations and Times
Pick-up/drop-off location is at the Park District Fitness and Recreation Center lobby unless otherwise noted. We depart promptly at the times listed. If changes occur, participants will be notified by phone or e-mail. Return times may vary depending on traffic and/or weather conditions; we make every attempt to return by the designated time.
Refunds
Refunds are only given under the following conditions:
1: The trip is canceled by the Barrington Park District.
2: The person asking for a refund finds a replacement for the trip.
3: The Park District has a waiting list and is able to sell your ticket.
4: If we have not met our registration minimum by the deadline date.
NO CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE REGISTRATION/CANCELLATION DEADLINE FOR EACH TRIP.
All payments are required in full at time of registration. Please notify the Park District in advance if any special ADA or dietary accommodations are needed for the trip.
