Day Trip: Royalty for a Day – Balmoral Tea Service & Fabyan Japanese Gardens

Just like the Royal Family does while visiting their estate in Scotland, we will have our own High Tea at the Balmoral Restaurant in Campton Hills. Tea service includes a wide variety of items including: biscuits, scones, shortbreads, finger sandwiches, clotted cream with fresh jam and more! Royalty loves nothing more than strolling beautiful gardens. After High Tea we will take in the history and design of the Fabyan Japanese Gardens in Batavia. These historic gardens offer the opportunity to experience the uniqueness of Japanese gardening and enjoy a moment of harmony with nature while strolling the winding path of this 100-year-old site. Considerable walking and standing is involved with this trip. Registration deadline: April 25 (spaces permitting). Transportation provided via park district van.
Trip Policies & Cancellations
Suggested Ages for Trips
Adult/Active trips are appropriate for anyone ages 18 and over.
Mature Adult trips are most appropriate for ages 55 and up, but all adults are welcome.
Pick-up/Drop-off Times
Pick-up/drop-off location is at the Park District Fitness and Recreation Center – lobby unless otherwise noted. Departure times are set and abided by. If changes occur, participants will be notified by phone. Return times may vary depending on traffic or weather conditions; we make every attempt to return by the designated time.
Refunds
Refunds are only given under the following conditions:
1: The trip is cancelled by the Barrington Park District.
2: The person asking for a refund finds a replacement for the trip.
3: The Park District has a waiting list and is able to sell your ticket.
If we have not met our registration minimum by the deadline date (if one is listed), then the trip will be cancelled and a full refund will be issued. All payments are required in full at time of registration. Please notify the Park District in advance if any special ADA or dietary accommodations are needed for the trip.
