We haven’t forgotten about the tiniest member of your family! We offer great early childhood programs to start your little ones off on the right foot.
Here at the Barrington Park District, we encourage children to socialize, interact cooperatively and gain independence so they can reach their full potential. We share your desire to provide the best possible start for your child.
From theater to cooking and more, the Barrington Park District offers a wide variety to fit every child’s interest.
So much to choose from! Volleyball, basketball, soccer, hockey, lacrosse, golf, tennis and more!
All of our events are family friendly and offer you and your family great bonding time and unforgettable experiences! With our wide variety of choices, there is sure to be something that suites your family’s life-style!
This summer there are many opportunities for you to unplug and try something new. We invite each of you to get out and explore all that the Barrington Park District has to offer. Start your outdoor tour at the Pepper Family Treehouse in Citizens Park. The treehouse underwent extensive maintenance last season and is now open and perfect for a picnic or family gathering. While in Citizens Park, take a little extra time to walk or bike the trails. Wednesday evenings starting July 12,
sit back and enjoy the music. BMO Harris is sponsoring the summer concert series which is always a fan favorite.
In Langendorf Park, try your hand at pickleball. Don’t worry if you have never played; now is the perfect opportunity to learn something new or to take a class. The pool opens Memorial Day weekend and there is no better way to cool off on a hot summer day than by taking a dip in the pool or racing down a water slide. Paradise Plunge and the Cardboard Boat Regatta are a couple of ways to bring the family together for a fun outdoor and unplugged activity.
Are you looking for something more structured? The Barrington Park District has something for everyone. We have camps geared for all ages and just about every interest area. Ultimate Frisbee? We have you covered. Cooking? We have five camps for you! If STEM is your focus, we have several camps and a new music biz class. Don’t forget about the adult softball leagues, pickleball or karate classes. July is National Park & Recreation Month. Stop in and grab your PARKO card filled with activities for the family.
Leave the tech behind, grab a friend or the family and enjoy the summer in one of the Barrington Park District parks.
