Why did the Elgin National Watch Company go out of business? Was it management? Was it the economy or was it the technology? The answer is complex, and the causes are many. Author Bill Briska discusses the twists and turns the Elgin National Watch Company until it went out of business in the 1960s. Minimal walking is involved with this trip. Registration/cancellation deadline: January 14 (spaces permitting). Transportation provided via Park District van.
Registration for this program/event begins at 9:00am on12/4 for residents and 12/11 for non-residents.

Trip Policies & Cancellations, Pick-up/Drop-off Locations and Times
Pick-up/drop-off location is at the Park District Fitness and Recreation Center lobby unless otherwise noted. We depart promptly at the times listed. If changes occur, participants will be notified by phone or e-mail. Return times may vary depending on traffic and/or weather conditions; we make every attempt to return by the designated time.
Refunds
Refunds are only given under the following conditions:
1: The trip is canceled by the Barrington Park District.
2: The person asking for a refund finds a replacement for the trip.
3: The Park District has a waiting list and is able to sell your ticket.
4: If we have not met our registration minimum by the deadline date.
NO CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE REGISTRATION/CANCELLATION DEADLINE FOR EACH TRIP.
All payments are required in full at time of registration. Please notify the Park District in advance if any special ADA or dietary accommodations are needed for the trip.
