Designed for adults ages 21 and up, these trips offer a fun and convenient way to discover exciting destinations without the hassle of planning or driving. From live theater performances and scenic cruises to charming towns, unique dining experiences and seasonal excursions, each trip is thoughtfully organized to provide a memorable day with friends and fellow travelers. Whether you’re looking to relax, explore somewhere new or simply enjoy a day out, our Adult Trips program has something for everyone.
Your entire family is going to love this event! We park dozens of “Big Trucks” in the parking lot at Ron Beese Park and then open them up for children to climb in and explore! Fire engines, garbage trucks, village vehicles, tow trucks and more will be on hand to help your children have fun while learning about each truck, watching demonstrations and climbing behind the wheel. Ride the trackless train and have fun on the inflatable slide. Food available for purchase.
All cars must stop at the Park entrance to check-in. Please drive slowly when entering and exiting the park.

July 8: Rosie & The Rivets
Rosie & the Rivets perform an electrifying female fronted retrospective tribute to the first ten years (1954-1964) of Rock & Roll. Along with early Rock & Roll favorites, you’ll hear Girl Group, Rockabilly, R&B, Surf and British Invasion featuring Rosie’s powerful and versatile voice and backed by a band
with extensive theater/tribute/roots music experience!
July 15: The Yacht Rock-ettes
Get ready to set sail on a voyage of velvety vocals and sultry saxophone solos. Introducing the Yacht Rock-ettes, the world’s only female-fronted yacht rock cover band! These ladies are about to make waves, bringing you all the smooth rock hits from the 70s and early 80s.
July 22: The Messengers
The Messengers leave audiences dancing, singing and screaming for more. Their incredible harmony and raw power drive their sound, delivering a dynamic mix of pop, rock and modern country that captivates listeners. With a vast repertoire that spans from Miranda Lambert to Mumford & Sons and from Queen to Pitbull, The Messengers offer a diverse and engaging experience.
July 29: The Throwbacks
The Throwbacks follow one of rock ’n’ roll’s richest traditions: covering beloved songs that almost everyone knows deep within their psyches. And like rock ’n’ roll’s forebears, they sing these songs in their distinct voices, arrange them to suit their souls and truly make them their own.
August 5: Abby Kay Band
The Abby Kay Band is a high-energy, female-fronted group hailing from Wauconda, Illinois. Blending a wide range of musical styles – country, rock, pop and a hint of blues – their setlist is both engaging and eclectic. Fans can expect to hear a well-curated mix of beloved covers and original songs that showcase the band’s talent and versatility. Their ability to read the room and keep the energy up makes them a crowd favorite wherever they go.

The KidFest mission is to provide activities that inspire healthy habits, introduce nature opportunities and encourage families to work together to help make a difference in the world. Our goal is to motivate families to volunteer in their community, work together to maintain an healthy lifestyle, get out and explore nature and of course, get together and Fly A Kite!
KidFest is a FREE, fun, family event that gets the entire family outside and moving.
This is a FREE event located at Citizens Park. When you and your family arrive at the park, check in at one of three registration tents to get your all access wristband in order to participate in the activities. Then, pick up a free kite (for ages 2-10) and fly it in the big open field! At your leisure, experience each of the activity stations. Build a birdhouse, race your parents, do an obstacle course or explore the creatures that live in the pond. Food and drinks available for purchase from Catered Productions! We have something for everyone to enjoy and it’s ALL FREE! This event is very popular and parking is limited, please take advantage of our FREE shuttle service located down the road at The Barrington Park District’s Langendorf Park (235 Lions Drive, next to the pool). FREE kites will be provided to all children ages 2-10. One kite per child.

Let us be Santa’s little helper this year. The Park District has a special mailbox for letters heading to the North Pole. Send or drop off your child’s letter November 17 – December 8, WITH a self-addressed, stamped envelope, and we will make sure your letter makes it to Santa with enough time to write back.
