Holiday Light Show and Shopping

December 5, 2018 @ 7:00 am - 7:30 pm

$69 – $74

AGES: MATURE ADULTS

Fee: $69/$74
Location: Depart F&RC Lobby for Crystal Lake Park District

Our first stop is in Theresa, Wisconsin to visit Widmer’s Cheese and Confections by Joel. Widmer’s Cheese Cellars settled in the heart of one of the richest cheese making areas in America more than 80 years ago. There will be a 15 minute video, possible tour depending on what needs to be made, free samples and cheese makers can answer your questions upon request. Chocolate is a specialty for blind entrepreneur, Joel Bernhard, owner of Confections by Joel. He started making candy back in 1999, selling to friends and neighbors but as word spread about his delicious chocolates he expanded to an old general store which is over 100 years old, with original tin ceilings and hardwood floors. Next stop is Fond du Lac, Wisconsin with  lunch at Red Cabin on Green Acres and shopping at Kristmas Kringle Shoppe. The Kristmas Kringle Shoppe was started in 1978 by Grace and Jerry Mielke to provide a special environment to offer unique Christmas ornaments and collectables celebrating Christmas 360 days of the year. Browse through the European Village of Shops designed to create an enchanting atmosphere you can get lost in. To top off the day, we will visit the Rotary Botanical Gardens Holiday Light Show in Janesville, which is one of the best in the area. Registration deadline: November 9 (spaces permitting). Transportation provided via Park District van to Crystal Lake Park District to board motor couch bus.
