Day Trip: Military Tour

Uncle Sam wants YOU not to miss this tour! We will start the day heading to the Dunn Museum for a forty-five minute guided tour followed by free time to browse the various galleries on your own. For lunch, we will be heading to Mickey Finn’s for: Mickey burgers, beer brats, buns, a garnish tray, cheese tray, homemade chips and pasta salad. Coffee, soda and water will be included. The afternoon will continue at the National Museum of the American Soldier for a presentation and tour. We will finish the day at Ft. Sheridan with a guided “windshield” tour that has stops and photo opportunities along the way. Before heading home, we will have a final stop at Hooyah’s for a self-pay ice cream treat. Moderate walking is involved with this trip. Registration deadline: June 21 (spaces permitting). Transportation provided via Park District van.

Registration for this program/event begins at 9:00am on 4/4 for residents and 4/11 for non-residents.

Trip Policies & Cancellations

Suggested Ages for Trips
Adult/Active trips are appropriate for anyone ages 18 and over.
Mature Adult trips are most appropriate for ages 55 and up, but all adults are welcome.

Pick-up/Drop-off Times
Pick-up/drop-off location is at the Park District Fitness and Recreation Center – lobby unless otherwise noted. Departure times are set and abided by. If changes occur, participants will be notified by phone. Return times may vary depending on traffic or weather conditions; we make every attempt to return by the designated time.

Refunds are only given under the following conditions:
1: The trip is cancelled by the Barrington Park District.
2: The person asking for a refund finds a replacement for the trip.
3: The Park District has a waiting list and is able to sell your ticket.
If we have not met our registration minimum by the deadline date (if one is listed), then the trip will be cancelled and a full refund will be issued. All payments are required in full at time of registration. Please notify the Park District in advance if any special ADA or dietary accommodations are needed for the trip.
