Tempel Farms Lippizan – Behind the Scenes Barn Tour and Lynfred Winery

Location: Depart F&RC – Lobby for Tempel Lippizan Farm

Join us for an exciting behind the scenes tour of the famous Tempel Lippizans, where we will get up close and personal with these beautiful horses and learn all about this breed of horses and Spanish Riding dating back to the 1500’s. The tour ends with observation of a daily training session and questions with the trainers and riders. We then head off to the Shanty, which was featured on the T.V. show Diner’s Dives and Drive-in’s, for lunch featuring a buffet of rolls, mediterranean salad, garlic mashed potatoes or saute’ed vegetables, apple brandy pork shanks or chicken saltimbocca, dessert and coke products. Our next stop will be the Lynfred Winery for three types of wine tasting. Our trip would not be complete without a stop at the Long Grove Chocolate Factory Outlet for a little shopping. Moderate walking on uneven paths. Transportation via Park District van.

Trip Policies & Cancellations

Suggested Ages for Trips
Adult/Active trips are appropriate for anyone ages 18 and over.
Mature Adult trips are most appropriate for ages 55 and up, but all adults are welcome.

Pick-up/Drop-off Times
Pick-up/drop-off location is at the Park District Fitness and Recreation Center – lobby unless otherwise noted. Departure times are set and abided by. If changes occur, participants will be notified by phone. Return times may vary depending on traffic or weather conditions; we make every attempt to return by the designated time.

Refunds
Refunds are only given under the following conditions:
1: The trip is cancelled by the Barrington Park District.
2: The person asking for a refund finds a replacement for the trip.
3: The Park District has a waiting list and is able to sell your ticket.
If we have not met our registration minimum by the deadline date (if one is listed), then the trip will be cancelled and a full refund will be issued. All payments are required in full at time of registration. Please notify the Park District in advance if any special ADA or dietary accommodations are needed for the trip.
